SampleBoard began with a simple observation.
Designers don’t just collect images.
They collect ideas.
In 2010, when digital mood boards were still relatively new, I founded SampleBoard to help creative professionals organise visual inspiration, communicate concepts, and develop ideas more effectively.
What started as a mood board platform grew into a global community of designers, decorators, stylists, architects, students, and creative professionals who all shared the same challenge: turning inspiration into something meaningful.
Over time, something became increasingly clear. The real value wasn’t the software. It was the thinking behind the visuals.
The styles. The trends. The colours. The materials.
The relationships between them.
That realisation changed everything.

SampleBoard Editorial explores the forces shaping contemporary interiors. We research and analyse interior design trends, style movements, colour direction, material evolution, and the cultural shifts influencing the way we live.
Rather than treating design as decoration, we study it as a system of ideas. Our goal is to help designers, students, and design-conscious readers understand not only what is changing, but why it matters.

SampleBoard Studio transforms that research into practical design tools. Inside Studio you’ll find style systems, mood board frameworks, FF&E libraries, presentation templates, and visual resources designed to support professional interior design workflows.
The goal is simple: to help designers move from inspiration to execution with greater clarity, consistency, and confidence.

About Rosslyn Tebbutt
I’m Rosslyn Tebbutt, founder of SampleBoard. My background is in Interior Architecture, and before launching SampleBoard I worked in both South Africa and London within commercial interior design practices.
For more than fifteen years I’ve been researching design movements, analysing emerging trends, building visual systems, and exploring the relationship between aesthetics, materials, culture, and human behaviour.
Today my work sits at the intersection of trend forecasting, style intelligence, design education, and visual communication.
SampleBoard is the result of that ongoing obsession. Not simply with beautiful interiors. But with understanding why they work.
The Future
The design industry is changing rapidly. Artificial intelligence is transforming how images are generated. Search is changing how information is discovered. Design tools are evolving faster than ever.
What remains valuable is judgment — the ability to recognise patterns, identify meaningful trends, understand visual language, and connect inspiration with intention.
