Design for kids is on the rise, and with Millennial parents dominating the market, collector items with unique stories to tell are becoming the industry’s favorite.
But one brand stands out among the rest - Mrs. Mighetto.
Once you lay your eyes on one of Mrs. Mighetto’s prints, it becomes clear why these prints are so irresistible to many. They have it all - looks, story, magic, and a contemporary color palette.
We are huge on aesthetics here at SampleBoard, but also enjoy the stories that come with the products. This one starts with two Swedish friends, Malin Mighetto and Anna Sylvan.
Besides being the creatives and visionaries of the brand, these girls have been friends and neighbors for years.
They describe themselves as nerds in everything mysterious, from history to saga.
Children’s books and fantasy movies such as Harry Potter, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Tim Burton’s opus inspired an evening hobby project of two friends sharing the same passion.
Malin has been drawing since she was a little girl and is the one responsible for painting all the characters. Anna’s background is in marketing, and her talent is her words.
She uses them to bring characters to life by telling stories about their mysterious personalities.
They didn’t have big plans for Mrs. Mighetto when they first started.
At the time, girls used to pack every ordered print by hand in a charming but somewhat time-consuming way and bring it to the post office individually.
All they wanted was to share their creations with the world; soon, the world couldn’t get enough of them!
Their first collection, Superheroes, was released in October 201,4, and after just ten days, it was gone for good.
Everything was sold.
It was the love of its creators that pushed Mrs. Mighetto to success. Malin and Anna work on everything together and always take the time to ensure the quality of their designs remains high.
They didn’t want to sell all the prints they could to earn the extra buck. Instead, they decided to limit their numbers and make Mrs. Mighetto a collector’s piece.
The last three years were fruitful for Mrs. Mighetto’s fantasy worlds and inhabitants.
After Superheroes, we got Fantastic Four, Into the Woods, Wondergirls, Among the Clouds, Les Petits, Selected by Circus Mighetto, The End of the Forest, and in a few days, Lake stories.
Each brings a new storyline and mythical creatures with their own names, magic powers, and unique traits.
Not only do they look stunning in soft grays against a white backdrop, but they also add extra value to the room—an enchanting bedtime story for the whole family to enjoy.
Mrs. Mighetto’s prints can be seen all over Instagram.
The mood they create is beyond words, yet these prints don’t stop the room from growing with the child.
They are loved by kids of all generations (and their parents, too) and get along well with both girls' and boys' interiors.
Any design style can easily house these poetic prints, yet they feel most at home in boho chic rooms with a vintage touch, featuring canopies, garlands, and fairy lights.
