There's something about a Nordic summer house that just instills relaxation. Maybe it's the simplicity of the design or the way that they seem to effortlessly blend into their natural surroundings. Whatever the reason, I can't get enough of them!
So I'm counting down the weeks until my new kitchen is built. After a lot of time pinning (check out my Nordic Summer House board) I have finally settled on a style. Nordic Summer House meets Modern Farmhouse.
After a lot of contemplation and research, I have decided to use Bianca Carrara marble as countertops, although I will be using a sort of acid-wash to remove most of the "shine" so it gets installed with a slight patina already...with an underslung double basin.
This will be my color scheme - I've already painted our new front door that lovely dark blue/grey color used in the top cupboards and I will be using the same color for my bottom kitchen cupboards - Duco spraypainted with either a finger grip door handle or stainless steel strip handle.
I've also designed a little bookshelf in the kitchen island unit and got inspired by these ideas...
