This is the sixth post of a series “Style, Substance and Color: Major Trends and Directions for 2014″ inspired by PANTONE home + interiors 2014
In this complex and information-laden world, there is a multiplicity of resources that inform color and design directions. More than ever before it is urgent to be aware of future trends as consumers are seeking distinctive styling and considerable substance. Most importantly, colors and combinations must be appealing, evocative, transformative and ‘on-target’. PANTONE home + interiors 2014
This interior design mood board theme based on Pantone’s home + interiors 2014 color trend is called “eccentricities”.
According to Pantone's color theme "eccentricities, there is always room for an eccentric palette with a personality that defies the established “rule book” of design and color, bringing with it a sense of adventure, wit, experimentation and discovery. It’s “tongue in cheek” in attitude and highly original in color juxtapositioning and cleverly conceived in evocative combinations – a flash of neon green radiates off of zesty lemon or nectarine combines with a daredevil Skydiver blue. Fudgesickle brown is rendered sweeter with Strawberry Ice. A warm red coexists with its cooler counterpart, while black and/or white can be drawn into any combination.
